
ROCHESTER — A retired Mayo Clinic doctor was one of two people who died in a plane crash Saturday in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota,
report.
Dr. Joseph Cass retired from Mayo Clinic in Rochester in May 2017, according to a
Mayo Clinic Alumni Association article.
The crash killed North Dakota state

that the two were romantic partners.
Cass was believed to be the pilot of the small plane that crashed shortly after takeoff on April 25.
Cass first joined Mayo Clinic in 1983, following his
there. He left in 1986 and spent nearly two decades practicing medicine in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and the Twin Cities. Cass returned to Mayo Clinic in 2005.
When asked about his retirement, Cass said in the alumni article that “[a]s long as I'm learning something, I'll be content,” and expressed his desire to take flying lessons.
North Dakota Gov. Kelly Armstrong reacted to Conmy's death
