A crash Tuesday morning in Alton, New Hampshire, left one person dead and another seriously hurt.
Alton police responded to the head-on collision around 6:30 p.m. on Henry Wilson Highway near Heron Point Road.
Investigators believe 40-year-old Stacey Odette-Bissell of Rochester was driving west when her Nissan Altima crossed into the eastbound lane, hitting a Jeep Compass.
Odette-Bissell was pronounced dead at the scene. The Jeep's driver, a 31-year-old Maine woman, was hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
No one else was in either vehicle, police said.
Part of Route 11 was closed Tuesday morning as police investigated the crash.
