Reform Man Killed in Pickens County Crash.

A Reform man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Pickens County on May 11, authorities said.

Christopher S. Byrd, 33, died after his 2011 Silverado collided head-on with a 1994 Peterbilt tractor-trailer at approximately 4:20 p.m., according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA). Byrd was not wearing a seat belt and was from the pickup truck, being at the scene.

The tractor-trailer was driven by 57-year-old Claude W. Robinson, also of Reform. Robinson sustained injuries and was transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus, Mississippi, for treatment.

The crash took place on Alabama 17 near mile marker 217, about six miles north of Reform. Troopers from ALEA's Highway Patrol Division are currently investigating the incident. No further information has been released.
