ELMORE COUNTY, Ala. – A single-vehicle crash early Monday morning has resulted in the death of an Opelika man.
According to Alabama State Troopers, 56-year-old Bonifacio Angel Bartolon was a passenger in an SUV that left the roadway, overturned, and struck a ditch and several trees. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, 39-year-old Mynor Ramirez Morales of Auburn, sustained injuries and was transported to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment.
The accident occurred just before 7 a.m. on Rock Springs Road near Rifle Range Road, approximately 10 miles west of Tallassee. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
