Fatal Hit-and-Run Incident Claims Bicyclist's Life Near Seaford
SEAFORD, DE—At approximately 2:10 p.m. on July 24, a 73-year-old bicyclist was fatally struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.
Authorities identified the victim as Michael Barrett, who was riding east on Woodpecker Road, west of Butler Branch Road, when he was hit. Emergency medical personnel responded but pronounced Barrett dead at the scene.
Delaware State Police have released a photo of the suspected vehicle involved in the incident and are actively investigating.
No additional injuries were reported, and there were no indications of road closures resulting from the incident.
