GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Two suspects are on the run after a wrong-way crash on US-131 Friday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 2:50 p.m. on July 3, in the northbound lanes of US-131, south of the Wealthy Street overpass, according to Michigan State Police. The suspect vehicle entered the freeway in the wrong direction, sideswiping a truck towing jet skis.
Authorities reported that the driver of the truck was uninjured. However, the two occupants of the suspect vehicle abandoned their SUV and fled the scene.
Troopers are actively searching for the suspects, and open bottles of alcohol were found inside the abandoned vehicle, authorities said.
The investigation is ongoing.
