COVINGTON, LA — A single-vehicle crash in the Tchefuncta Club Estates neighborhood resulted in one fatality Saturday evening.
Authorities reported that at approximately 8:30 p.m., deputies with the ST. TAMMANY PARISH SHERIFF'S OFFICE responded to a crash on Oaklawn Drive near Pine Crest Drive. The investigation revealed that an SUV left the roadway, entered a ditch, struck a tree stump, and subsequently caught fire.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The ST. TAMMANY PARISH SHERIFF'S OFFICE is currently conducting an investigation, and no further information is available at this time.
