Lede: A pedestrian in her 60s suffered life-threatening injuries in a Lakeville roundabout crash on Thursday.
Authorities responded to the intersection of Highview Avenue and 185th Street West shortly before 5 p.m. The 66-year-old woman was struck by a Chevrolet Malibu as she crossed the west side of the intersection.
Initial investigations indicate the Chevrolet was traveling northbound on Highview Avenue before entering the roundabout and turning west onto 185th Street West. The pedestrian was in the crosswalk while heading north on Highview Avenue when the vehicle hit her in the westbound lane of 185th Street West.
Police reported that the driver showed no signs of impairment and is cooperating with the investigation. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The incident remains under investigation by Lakeville authorities.
