Local Comedian Eugene Mirman Recovering Following Fiery Crash at New Hampshire Toll Plaza

BEDFORD, NH — Comedian and voice actor Eugene Mirman is recovering after a serious crash at a toll plaza on March 31.

Mirman's electric struck the Bedford toll booth at a high speed, igniting into flames shortly after the collision, according to authorities. Emergency responders, including New Hampshire State Police and local fire departments, assisted in rescuing him from the vehicle.

Mirman reported having no memory of the crash itself, expressing gratitude for the timely intervention by Governor Kelly Ayotte and her security detail. “I don't know what caused it. I don't remember it,” he stated in an interview.

A week after the incident, Mirman's ignited again while at a local tow yard, raising concerns about the complexities of extinguishing electric vehicle fires. Jason Ferschke, Chief of the Natick Fire Department, noted, “Electric vehicles are generally stable, but when they fail, they can be unpredictable.”

Mirman, who recently released a comedy special titled “Here Comes the Whimsy,” stated that this experience has deepened his appreciation for life. He is currently resuming his role in “Bob's Burgers.”

No official details on injuries or the cause of the crash have been confirmed as the investigation continues.
