NORFOLK, Va. — A woman died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing E. Virginia Beach Boulevard on Thursday morning.
Authorities reported the incident occurred at approximately 11:00 a.m. in the 5900 block of E. Virginia Beach Boulevard. 79-year-old Josephine McClese suffered serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
According to police, McClese was crossing E. Virginia Beach Boulevard near Glenrock Road at the time of the accident. Investigators confirmed that alcohol was not a factor in this crash.
The Norfolk Police Department is conducting an investigation into the incident. No additional details about the vehicle involved or any potential lane closures were provided.
