PIERRE — A three-car accident on East Irwin resulted in one fatality on October 8 at approximately 2:41 p.m.
Authorities reported the collision involved two sedans and a pickup truck. The fatality, a 34-year-old male driver, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other individuals sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital.
Emergency response included the PIERRE POLICE DEPARTMENT and PIERRE FIRE DEPARTMENT, who worked to clear the scene and assist the injured. The right lane of East Irwin was closed for approximately two hours while tow trucks removed the vehicles.
