One Fatality in Highway 97 Crash North of Redmond

REDMOND, OR — A motor vehicle crash on Highway 97 claimed one life and closed both directions near Redmond on June 5, according to the Oregon State Police (OSP).

The accident occurred around 1 p.m. approximately three miles north of Terrebonne, near the High Bridge and Ogden Wayside. Authorities reported that the highway has since reopened.

OSP and the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene, with an air ambulance dispatched for medical aid, as confirmed by Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Jason Carr.

The identity of the deceased individual has not been released.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
