One dies in Fruit Heights crash after vehicle catches fire.

FRUIT HEIGHTS, Utah (KUTV) — A fatal incident occurred early on March 22 when an individual lost their life after their vehicle caught fire following a collision with a retaining wall. This information was confirmed by the Kaysville Fire Department.

The crash took place at approximately 1:44 a.m. near 400 North Mountain Road in Fruit Heights.

Upon arrival, first responders found the vehicle engulfed in flames, with one person trapped inside, according to a post from the Kaysville Fire Department on social media. In response, officials called for additional assistance from the Kaysville, Farmington, and Layton fire departments.

“The fire was quickly extinguished, and crews worked collaboratively to stabilize the vehicle and extricate the patient. After extrication, the patient received treatment from fire department paramedics,” the post detailed.

Despite the efforts of the emergency personnel, the individual was at the scene, as stated by the Kaysville Fire Department.

“Our thoughts and condolences go out to their family and loved ones,” the post expressed.

The investigation into the incident is being conducted by the Davis County Sheriff's Office.
