NTSB to Investigate UPS Flight 2976 Crash in Two-Day Hearing
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will hold a two-day investigative hearing on May 19 and 20 regarding the crash of United Parcel Service (UPS) flight 2976.

The Boeing MD-11F cargo plane crashed shortly after takeoff on Nov. 4, 2025, during a domestic flight from Louisville to Honolulu. The incident resulted in the deaths of three crew members and 11 individuals on the ground, with an additional 23 people injured; one of those seriously injured later died 51 days after the accident.

The hearing will take place in the NTSB boardroom in Washington and will be livestreamed. According to the NTSB, these hearings are conducted to gather essential information necessary for determining the facts and circumstances surrounding transportation accidents.

While the hearing is open to the public, only NTSB board members, investigators, witnesses, and participating parties will be permitted to engage. Further details, including the agenda and witness list, will be announced in the coming weeks.
