Eagle Mountain, UT. – Two people were hospitalized after being injured in a multi-vehicle collision on Wednesday afternoon in Eagle Mountain
According to the Utah County Sheriff's Office, the accident happened on Highway 73 near mile marker 70.
A pickup truck was traveling westbound on the highway and was attempting to pass another vehicle when it collided head-on with an oncoming car. The crash triggered a chain-reaction collision involving four other cars.
Two people had to be extricated before being transported to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
The person who caused the crash was charged with unsafe passing, failure to yield to right-of-way and not having vehicle insurance.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
