VERNON, CT — One person is dead following a double tractor-trailer accident on I-84 eastbound late Wednesday night.
According to State Police, a parked tractor-trailer was struck by another tractor-trailer around 11:30 p.m. between exits 66 and 67. The second vehicle subsequently caught fire.
Emergency response included multiple agencies, and three lanes of the highway were closed for approximately 12 hours for cleanup and investigation. The lanes were reopened around 11 a.m. on Thursday.
