UPDATE
A 71-year-old woman from Pilot Grove died Monday following a crash in Cooper County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at 10:34 a.m. at the intersection of Route E and MO-135.
Investigators reported that a 2014 Toyota Venza was traveling south on MO-135 when it stopped at the stop sign at Route E.
Simultaneously, a 2012 Ford F-250 traveling west on Route E failed to stop at the sign, colliding with the Venza.
The crash caused the Venza to slide off the roadway, striking a stop sign before both vehicles came to a rest on MO-135.
The deceased woman was a passenger in the Venza, pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic.
The Venza's driver, a 74-year-old man from Pilot Grove, sustained minor injuries and was transported to University Hospital by a Cooper County Ambulance.
The 32-year-old driver of the Ford F-250 from Moberly reported no injuries.
Troopers noted that this crash marks Troop F's tenth fatality in 2026.
