One dead and two injured in Champlin three-car crash.

CHAMPLIN, MN — A 70-year-old woman is dead following a three-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Champlin Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of West River Road and Pennsylvania Avenue. Each vehicle involved had only the driver as the sole occupant.

Emergency responders transported a 17-year-old boy and a 36-year-old woman to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. The third driver, a woman, was at the scene.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office is expected to release the identity of the deceased at a later time.

Authorities have not indicated the cause of the crash, and the investigation is ongoing. Lane closures were reported as emergency personnel responded to the scene.
