INVER GROVE HEIGHTS, MN — An 80-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 52 late Tuesday night.
At approximately 9:54 p.m., a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado traveling northbound on Highway 52 collided with a 2007 Saturn Vue, which had entered the northbound lanes from the southbound direction. The incident occurred near 80th Street, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The driver of the Saturn, identified as Phillis Lucille Deboth of Cottage Grove, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities reported that she was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Chevrolet, a 60-year-old man from Birchwood, Wisconsin, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities noted that wet road conditions were present at the time of the collision; however, none indicated they were a contributing factor in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
Emergency response teams and the Minnesota State Patrol were on the scene, managing road closures and directing traffic.
