BEAVER, Utah (KUTV) — One person has died, and two others sustained serious injuries in a rollover crash on Interstate 15 in Millard County.
According to Lt. Cameron Roden with the Utah Highway Patrol, the incident occurred near exit 132 at approximately 7:30 a.m. Thursday. A car, traveling northbound between Fillmore and Beaver, swerved right, overcorrected, and rolled into the median before entering southbound lanes.
Two passengers were ejected during the crash; the front passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition, while a backseat passenger was transported by ambulance with moderate to serious injuries. All three individuals involved were adult males.
The crash resulted in significant delays for southbound traffic, as both lanes were blocked. Authorities diverted traffic to Interstate 70 and advised using Cove Fort as an alternate route. By 10 a.m., one lane was reopened, but traffic remained congested for several miles. Lt. Roden indicated that the second lane was expected to reopen before noon.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing, and more details will follow as they become available.
