Deputies Deliver Pizza After Driver Crash in Pinellas County
PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — On Tuesday, deputies with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office delivered a pizza to a customer after the original driver was involved in an accident.
According to the Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a vehicle crash when one of the drivers mentioned they were en route to deliver a pizza. With the delivery address nearby, deputies decided to assist.
Dashcam footage shows a deputy approaching the customer's home with the pizza, asking, “You waiting on a pizza delivery?” The customer confirmed his order from Rizzoli's and expressed concern about interrupting the officers' work.
After handing over the pizza, the deputy told the customer, “There ya go, bud. Enjoy your pizza.” The customer expressed gratitude multiple times.
The incident drew positive reactions online, with many praising the deputies for their thoughtful actions. One commenter noted, “Those are the real heroes,” while another humorously referred to it as “911 pizza.”
While delivering pizza is not part of law enforcement duties, the deputies' prompt actions ensured the customer received his meal without delay. No injuries or further details about the crash were reported at this time.
