ERDA, Utah (KUTV) — Two men died Wednesday morning after a collision involving a semi-truck and a Corvette in Tooele County.
The crash occurred at approximately 10 a.m. at the intersection of SR-179 and Parachute Park Lane. According to Lt. Cameron Roden, the Corvette was making a left turn from Parachute Park Lane onto SR-179 when it was struck by a northbound semi-truck.
The victims, aged 66 and 65, were the sole occupants of the Corvette. The driver of the semi-truck sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Northbound SR-179 is currently closed at the crash site, with lane restrictions also in place on Parachute Park Lane. The Utah Department of Transportation advises motorists to expect delays and seek alternate routes if possible.
Authorities are investigating the incident.
