DETROIT — On June 3, 2026, Ford will recall nearly 420,000 U.S. SUVs over a seat belt defect, Reuters reported.
The recall covers 419,967 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs from model years 2018–2022 in the United States, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
NHTSA said the seat belt pretensioner in the driver or front passenger seat may inadvertently lock, preventing the belt from retracting or extending properly.
The agency said the malfunction could keep the seat belt from restraining occupants during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Reuters reported the action Wednesday after the U.S. auto safety regulator released details.
Reuters said owners of affected vehicles will be notified by Ford. Additional repair information was not immediately available.
