NCSHP Investigates Fatal Tow Truck Crash on U.S. 70 in Craven County That Claimed Life of Bailey Man.

A Bailey man died in a crash involving a tow truck on U.S. 70 in Craven County at 12:16 p.m. on July 13, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

Troopers reported that 49-year-old Tracy Perry was driving east on U.S. 70 near mile marker 436 when the tow truck partially left the road and entered the median. The vehicle struck a median cable barrier, overturned, and landed on its roof.

Perry was the sole occupant of the tow truck, and no other vehicles were involved in the incident. Authorities confirmed Perry succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing, and there were no lane closures reported at the time of the crash. Emergency responders included the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
