LONEPINE — A 57-year-old man from Elmo died in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Thursday, July 2, at 9:17 p.m.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol (MHP), the accident occurred when the driver failed to negotiate a curve, causing the vehicle to slide, hit a barbed wire fence, and roll over.
Authorities reported that the man was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol is suspected as a contributing factor in the crash.
MHP is continuing its investigation into the incident.
