JEFFERSON, Wis. — One person is dead and another hospitalized following a motorcycle crash on Saturday evening.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office responded to the accident at US Hwy 18 and Bakertown Road. According to authorities, two individuals were on the motorcycle when the driver lost control after entering the gravel shoulder on the north side of the road.
Efforts to regain control and re-enter the roadway were unsuccessful, leading to the crash. The deceased was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other rider was transported for further medical treatment.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances that led to the motorcycle leaving the roadway. No information regarding the identities of the victims has been released.
