Motorcyclist Critically Injured in Ewa Beach Crash
EWA BEACH, HI — A motorcyclist was critically injured in a collision Sunday morning on Fort Weaver Road.
The Honolulu Police Department reported the incident occurred around 10:40 a.m. Authorities said the 35-year-old motorcyclist was traveling northbound when he rear-ended a 28-year-old male driver, who was slowing down for an unoccupied vehicle parked on the right shoulder. The impact ejected the motorcyclist onto the roadway.
Emergency medical personnel transported the rider to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Police confirmed the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Preliminary investigations indicate that speed, drugs, and alcohol may not have been contributing factors. According to investigators, the situation is still under review as they gather additional details.
Lanes on Fort Weaver Road may experience delays as the investigation continues.
