A motorcyclist is dead following a crash on Route 1 in South Kingstown, Rhode Island, on Tuesday night.
According to South Kingstown Police, the incident occurred shortly before 11 p.m. on Route 1 northbound, south of Torrey Road. Emergency personnel closed all northbound lanes from South County Commons to Torrey Road, causing significant traffic delays.
Authorities confirmed that 28-year-old Michael Fletcher succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. Witnesses reported that Fletcher may have lost control of his motorcycle near the Tower Hill Fire Station, and police indicated that no other vehicles were involved.
