LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A motorcycle passenger was killed Saturday evening after the bike left the roadway and hit fixed objects on West Cactus Avenue, according to Las Vegas police.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported that officers responded at approximately 6:47 p.m. to a motorcycle-versus-fixed-objects incident. A 2021 Harley-Davidson Road Glide, driven by a 43-year-old man, was traveling westbound on Cactus Avenue when it struck the right shoulder while attempting to pass vehicles.
As the motorcycle approached a vehicle turning into a private drive, it veered off the roadway, crossed onto the sidewalk, and struck several fixed objects. The impact ejected the 40-year-old female passenger. The motorcycle came to rest wedged between a tree and a brick retaining wall.
Emergency medical personnel transported the driver to University Medical Center's Trauma Center. The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, with police stating she was beyond medical resuscitation.
Authorities confirmed that the driver suffered serious injuries but showed no signs of impairment. He was booked in absentia at the Clark County Detention Center on reckless driving charges.
The crash is under investigation by the LVMPD Collision Investigation Section. This incident marks the 56th traffic-related fatality in the LVMPD jurisdiction in 2026.
