EMMET COUNTY, Mich. – An 18-year-old Petoskey man, identified as Samuel Gross, died in a motorcycle crash involving a vehicle at Intertown and Eppler Roads on Monday, October 13, around 7 p.m., according to the Emmet County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities reported that speed appears to be a significant factor in the collision. The incident is currently under investigation by deputies.
The driver of the second vehicle, a 69-year-old Petoskey woman, was transported to McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital for evaluation but did not sustain injuries.
Sheriff Matt Leirstein expressed condolences, stating, “The sheriff's office extends our deepest sympathies to everyone affected by this heartbreaking tragedy.”
