SEARSBURG, VT — A Massachusetts man died in a head-on collision on State Route 9 late Wednesday night.
The crash occurred at approximately 10:53 p.m. when 53-year-old Alan Vautrain's SUV crossed into oncoming traffic. According to Vermont State Police, another driver attempted to evade the SUV, but Vautrain swerved back, leading to the collision.
Vautrain, from Ludlow, Massachusetts, was pronounced dead at the scene despite wearing his seatbelt. The other driver sustained minor injuries.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident.
