DEDHAM, MA — A pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run incident Wednesday evening on Needham Street.
Officers arrived at the 500 block of Needham Street around 7:30 p.m. to find a 38-year-old man injured. He was conscious and alert when discovered but required medical attention. Emergency responders treated him at the scene before transporting him to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver who struck the pedestrian fled the scene, with witnesses reporting the vehicle was headed toward Needham. Approximately 15 minutes after the initial call, a family member of the driver contacted Dedham Police, inquiring about reports of a deer being hit.
Authorities located the driver's home and towed the suspected vehicle for investigation. According to police, the driver has been identified and the investigation is ongoing.
