Man, 55, Killed in Plainview Crash on Long Island Expressway

Plainview, N.Y. – A 55-year-old man died in a collision that occurred in Plainview on Saturday morning.

The deadly crash occurred around 7:14 a.m. on Long Island Expressway at Exit 46, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

A 55-year-old man was driving a 2002 Mazda pick-up truck eastbound and struck a 2006 Honda Pilot driven by a 29-year-old man.

A 27-year-old man driving a 2011 Subaru Outback attempted to avoid the wreckage by swerving to the HOV lane and collided with a 2015 Chevy Suburban driven by a 69-year-old man.

The driver of the Mazda was transported to a local hospital where he later died.

The driver of the Outback was transported to a local hospital as a precaution.

The Suburban driver and two passengers were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
