Honda Issues Recall for Over 800,000 Vehicles Due to Suspension Risks
Honda is recalling 880,514 vehicles sold in multiple states due to potential rear suspension failures, increasing the risk of crashes. The recall affects certain 2016-2022 Honda Pilot, 2017-2023 Ridgeline, 2019-2023 Passport, and 2014-2020 Acura MDX models, according to American Honda Motor Co.
The issue involves corrosion at suspension mounting points on the rear subframe, which may lead to suspension failure. Authorities stated that Honda has received no warranty claims or reports of injuries or fatalities related to this defect.
Dealers will inspect the rear subframe and install a reinforcement kit or repair and replace components at no charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on July 7.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's campaign number for the recall is 26V367000. Vehicle Identification Numbers involved can be verified on NHTSA.gov starting June 10. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138 for more information.
