COLUMBUS, Ohio — Authorities said Wednesday a hit-and-run at South High Street and Mound Street left an e-bike rider critically injured.
According to authorities, the rider was traveling northbound on S. High St. and entered the intersection on a green signal.
A white 2016 Chrysler 300 was westbound on E. Mound St., drove between two westbound vehicles—one stopped at a red and another slowing—and entered the intersection.
Authorities said the Chrysler struck the electric bike, threw the rider to a corner of the intersection, and continued westbound on W. Mound St. without stopping.
Medics transported the rider to Grant Medical Center in life-threatening condition, according to authorities.
The Accident Investigation Unit responded and opened an investigation, which is ongoing. Authorities did not immediately release information on lane closures or tows.
