FAYETTE COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — A two-vehicle crash on the West Virginia Turnpike injured two people Monday morning.
The incident occurred around 9:15 a.m. on Interstate 77 North near mile marker 60, close to Mossy, according to WV 511. Emergency response teams, including local fire and medical services, were dispatched to the scene.
Authorities confirmed that the crash involved a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle. The extent of the injuries sustained by those involved has not yet been disclosed.
As a result of the accident, the northbound lanes of Interstate 77 have been closed while crews work to clear the wreckage. Traffic remains heavily congested in the area.
