One person died in a fiery crash on St. Simons Island on Sunday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Frederica Road. According to the Glynn County Police Department, a single vehicle lost control and collided with a utility pole, resulting in a fire.
Emergency responders from the Glynn County Fire Department were on the scene, providing medical aid. Despite their efforts, the driver, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other vehicles involved in the crash, and no injuries to other parties were reported.
Authorities confirmed that Frederica Road was temporarily closed while crews worked to extinguish the fire and clear the wreckage. The road has since reopened.
