A crash on October 1 on the northbound I-15 collector distributor road in Las Vegas resulted in one fatality.
Nevada State Police (NSP) identified the victim as 69-year-old Celsa Vivas, who died at the scene. Authorities reported that a Ford pickup truck failed to slow down during heavy traffic and collided with a Cadillac, which then struck a Lexus. Vivas was a passenger in the Cadillac; two other passengers sustained critical injuries and were transported to the hospital. The occupants of the Lexus also received medical attention for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Ford has been arrested on suspicion of impairment. An investigation is ongoing. Year-to-date, NSP Highway Patrol Southern Command has reported 47 fatal crashes resulting in 48 deaths.

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Nevada State Police confirmed a fatal crash on the northbound I-15 collector distributor road between Blue Diamond Road (State Route 160) and the I-215 Beltway, leading to road closures.
Authorities issued a traffic alert indicating that the collector distributor road is closed, including the northbound on-ramp from Blue Diamond. Drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
