A single-vehicle crash at the University of Alabama claimed one life on April 6.
At approximately 1:56 p.m., the University of Alabama Police Department and Tuscaloosa Police Department (TPD) responded to reports of a vehicle striking a tree at the intersection of McCorvey Drive and Campus Drive West, according to TPD spokesperson Stephanie Taylor.
Emergency responders attempted life-saving measures, but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Taylor confirmed that the victim was not affiliated with the University of Alabama.
The TPD's Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the incident. No further details regarding the crash have been released.
