Crash on U.S. 280 in Lee County Leaves One Dead

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, a fatal crash occurred on U.S. 280, approximately 8 miles west of Auburn, just after 10 p.m. Saturday.

44-year-old Marcus Edwards of Camp Hill was killed when his vehicle left the roadway, struck a ditch, and collided with the of a parked tractor-trailer. Edwards's vehicle caught fire upon impact and was engulfed in flames. He was at the scene.

The tractor-trailer, driven by 66-year-old Debbie Still of Phenix City, was stationary and off the roadway at the time of the incident. Still was not injured.

Authorities have not released further details as the investigation remains ongoing.
