AUTAUGA COUNTY, Ala. (WAKA) – A two-vehicle crash on I-65 in Autauga County resulted in the death of a 58-year-old Elmore man Wednesday night.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:39 p.m. near the 190 mile marker, about 10 miles north of Prattville. Authorities said George Jones, Jr. suffered fatal injuries when his vehicle was struck from behind by another car. Jones was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle sustained injuries and was transported to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for further treatment.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
