HOPKINTON, R.I., Aug. 28, 2026 — Taylor Swift donated $50,000 to support a Connecticut mother injured after aiding teens on Interstate 95, PEOPLE reported.

According to PEOPLE, the donation was made to a GoFundMe for 42-year-old Ashley Taunton.

According to WJAR, Taunton stopped on July 22, 2026, along I-95 near Exit 4 in Hopkinton after a carrying teenagers hydroplaned during .

As she assisted, another lost control; Taunton pushed a teen from its path and was struck, WJAR reported.

Taunton sustained life-threatening injuries, including a ruptured diaphragm, broken ribs, and internal bleeding, and underwent 3 surgeries, WJAR reported.

According to the GoFundMe page, funds will help cover household costs, travel, food, and medical expenses for Taunton, her husband, and their 3 children.

WJAR reported the teen Taunton helped was later identified as the son of a longtime family friend.
