Man Charged in Fatal August Collision on Johns Island
Charleston County deputies arrested 19-year-old Irineo Pimentel Guerrero on charges related to a deadly collision on Johns Island.
The incident occurred on August 22 at approximately 7 p.m. in the 3200 block of Fickling Hill Road. Initially, Pimentel Guerrero reported having a passenger in the vehicle, but later claimed he was the sole occupant after deputies conducted a search of the area. He was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital.
On August 25, authorities discovered a body during a resident's property walk. The Charleston County Sheriff's Office determined the deceased was a passenger from the earlier crash. The victim was later identified by the Charleston County Coroner's Office as 30-year-old Julian Navarro-Hernandez of Johns Island.
Pimentel Guerrero is facing charges of Felony Driving Under the Influence Resulting in Death. The investigation is ongoing, with the CCSO Traffic Unit handling the case.
