Part of Interstate 526 Closed Following Wrong-Way Crash
NORTH CHARLESTON, SC – A wrong-way crash in the westbound lanes of Interstate 526 closed a portion of the highway Saturday morning.
According to the North Charleston Police Department, the incident occurred on the Don Holt Bridge. The highway was temporarily shut down and reopened shortly after 7 a.m.
Authorities reported that the driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene. There were no other vehicles involved in the incident, and no other injuries were reported.
