SAN ANTONIO – A driver was killed in a crash that set an SUV ablaze on the North Side early Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. along West Bitters Road near Blanco Road.
Authorities reported the driver of a white SUV was speeding when the vehicle struck a curb, became airborne, and crashed through a fence.
Witnesses observed the SUV hit several parked vehicles and topple two covered parking structures before rolling onto its side and igniting.
The driver was discovered deceased inside the vehicle. No other injuries were reported.
Police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
