SOUTH WEBSTER, Ohio (WCHS) — A drag racing incident at KD Motorsports Park Saturday night resulted in the death of driver Chris Gordon, known as “Block.”
The crash occurred during an event, prompting immediate emergency response from fire, rescue, and EMS personnel. Despite their attempts to revive him, Gordon was pronounced dead at the scene, according to KD Motorsports Park officials.
The racetrack announced the cancellation of the remaining events that night due to the incident. In a statement on social media, KD Motorsports Park expressed condolences, asking the community to remember Gordon's family in their thoughts and prayers.
Chris Gordon was the owner of Block Motorsports and appeared on the Discovery Channel's show Street Outlaws: Fastest in America, where he led Team South Carolina.
Authorities have yet to disclose further details about the circumstances surrounding the crash or ongoing investigations.
