CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — A 25-year-old man suffered severe injuries in a crash near the Interstate 64/77 split in Kanawha County on Wednesday.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:03 p.m. when Aiden Peters of Christiansburg, Va., lost control of his vehicle, which then went off the southbound roadway and over a concrete barrier, landing in the Martin Marietta rock quarry below.
Authorities confirmed Peters has been transported to a local hospital, where he is currently in stable condition.
The Charleston Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash. No additional vehicles or injuries have been reported, and no lane closures were announced.
