LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A deadly rollover crash near Louisville Airport involved two drivers who were illegally passing on Crittenden Drive, according to court testimony.
Michael Joseph, 39, appeared in court Wednesday. He faces multiple charges, including leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, reckless driving, and operating a vehicle without a valid license or insurance.
John “Chris” Goodaker, 54, died from injuries sustained in the crash. Authorities reported that both drivers were passing another vehicle illegally on the shoulder when Goodaker collided with Joseph's car, leading to a rollover.
Joseph's arrest citation indicates he was speeding and did not possess a valid driver's license at the time of the incident. His attorney contended that Joseph is not criminally responsible for the crash, despite his failure to stop afterward.
Joseph's case is scheduled to be presented to a grand jury in July.
