Three Dead in Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-64 in Woodford County
WOODFORD COUNTY, Ky. — A multi-vehicle crash on I-64 resulted in three fatalities Friday evening.
According to Kentucky State Police, the incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. near the 61-mile marker on the westbound side. The crash involved four tractor-trailers and two passenger vehicles.
Two semi drivers and one occupant of a passenger vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not yet been released. Two other individuals from a passenger vehicle and one additional semi driver sustained injuries and were transported to hospitals; their conditions remain undisclosed.
Versailles police requested KSP to manage the investigation and reconstruction of the accident. Authorities reported that the complexity of the crash was heightened by the number of vehicles involved and a fire at the scene.
As the investigation continues, further information will be released by KSP.
