NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — A police pursuit in North Platte resulted in the arrest of 38-year-old David Franklin from Denver, who was wanted on a nationwide felony warrant.
On Sept. 23 at approximately 11:40 p.m., a Lincoln County deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for an equipment violation. Franklin failed to yield and fled, leading deputies on a 12-block chase.
The pursuit ended when Franklin lost control of the car, crashing into the brick steps of an apartment complex. He then reversed, drove three houses west, and collided with a tree before fleeing on foot.
Bystanders assisted law enforcement in apprehending Franklin. He faces charges including felony flight to avoid arrest, resisting arrest, willful reckless driving, and criminal mischief. Franklin is currently held at the Lincoln County Detention Center.
Authorities are continuing the investigation.
