Denver Man Arrested After Late-Night Crash and Police Chase

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — A police pursuit in North Platte resulted in the arrest of 38-year-old David Franklin from Denver, who was wanted on a nationwide felony warrant.

On Sept. 23 at approximately 11:40 p.m., a Lincoln County deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for an equipment violation. Franklin failed to yield and fled, leading deputies on a 12-block chase.

The pursuit ended when Franklin lost control of the , crashing into the brick steps of an apartment complex. He then reversed, drove three houses west, and collided with a tree before fleeing on foot.

Bystanders assisted law enforcement in apprehending Franklin. He faces charges including felony flight to avoid arrest, resisting arrest, willful , and criminal mischief. Franklin is currently held at the Lincoln County Detention Center.

Authorities are continuing the investigation.
